I want to work my way toward level 4 missions. Is there a major NPC corp that has a wide range of agents to work for (I only like two kinds of agents...all courier for when I want to read a book or all fighting when I want to actively play)? Basically, is there some major NPC corp that most Minmatars would want to do missions for throughout their entire career?
2) I went ratting my first time ever tonight (also my first time in 0.4). I felt like this was lucrative compared to some of the stuff I have been doing. Will I ever be able to achieve higher levels of agents by ratting? Or will I have to spend many boring hours making little money with low level agents to get to the big fish?
3) Most stations I go to seem deserted. I don't seem to ever be able to sell my loot for decent money. I cannot have enough orders to sell everything either (trying to work on that, but have too many skills currently that need attention). Am I treating the market wrong?
I will try to answer these three:
1) When i moved into Minny space i found out that you got some awesome agents there, but the biggest problem i had was to avoid lowsec systems because many agents are there. So i managed to locate 3 lvl1 agents in highsec Isendelik, some nice player gave me a tip :) That is a very nice start, but very quiet and desolate place.
Doing missions for the same corp, makes more and more agents available for that corp, so choose a corp with a lot of agents in it. And then moving up to higher level mission agents, then it was a bit hard to locate the lvl2 and lvl3 in highsec, as you do not want to go solo mission pve-fitted into lowsec you will get ganked by at least 2 or 3 ppl. so 3v1 isnt any fight you probably gonna win, just stay in highsec for those missions and you will lose minimal of isk. But they do exist in the Heimatar region! i havent done lvl4 so i dont know where they are but i guess you will find out when you are there :)
2) If you ever get a battleship (or perhaps a bc if well skilled and fitted accordingly) and go ratting in 0.0 space, then its very profitable. Hunting bs spawns for millions of isk bounty and large module lewt, and moving on from belt to belt killing bs spawns, now there you can make some good money, but its not anything for the newbies. And lowsec for example 0.4 might be even worse because the pvp corps who like to gank newbs hang out there.
So i think doing missions that you actually can survive is more profitable if you also salvage and you also get standing increase :) You see i got very fast important storyline missions when doing lots of fast lvl1 missions in a destroyer from the base in isendelik with 3 lvl1 agents, these missions boost the standing of the issuer corp by a high amount. Dont mind the crap payment low quality on them, bring a salvager on your ship and you make up for that big time !!
For me it was the same corp over and over for each time i got a important storyline mission. I think it was Republic Security Service if i remember correctly. So the 2 corps i get fastest standing with is then Republic Navy and Republic Security Service.
3) There are a coupla "trade hubs" that many people go to, in your case if your still in Heimatar region, its in Rens. So bring your loot to Rens and sell it there :)
Another thing, as i planned to go do lvl1 missions for pirate corps in 0.0 space i am going in an expendable ship (eg. frig or destroyer) and gonna try bring some friendly people out there with me since its better not to be alone out there.
